Alright, as we all know here, ninjas kill everything. Everything. Hold that thought, then throw it out the window, this is Lonin. The ninja plays a role most other class can play, but does it with its own flavor.

Role of a Ninja: While this may seem odd, a ninja doesn't seem to be a main damage dealer. Ninja are best used as hit and run opportunists, coming into the melee, and dashing back out. Don't expect to soak up any worthwhile damage, or tank. The Ninja's job should involve scouting, harassment, and secondary damage dealing.

The ninja has a few problems, which are hard to rectify, even with ability point usage. For one, they absolutely suck at leveling. By suck, I mean its the most difficult class to level, and its not even due to stats, its due to abilities. They have no healing spell, nor heavy damage dealing technique.

Defense: Ninja are paper thin. And not in the way they can slide through walls, but in defense standards. This goes along with the actual idea of a ninja in the publics eye, but this also makes it hard to..well, do anything. Most of the monsters in Lonin do physical damage, by way of attacking. That means that you want your defense to be decent, seeing as how that'll help reduce everything. Ninja however have other places they need to specialize, killing their ability to us up their precious ability points on defense.

Hit points... the source of everything good. Hit points represents how much life you have, and how much more of a beating before you die. Higher hp is obviously better. Hit points also determine how much regeneration you get back from the spell Regen, but you don't have that, so it doesn't matter too much. Having low hp (seeing as how some other stats are more important) kills your ability to level against monsters, which really makes it hard for you to be useful, or a nuisance to other players(if you choose to PvP.)

Strength, something every fighting/melee class wants, and needs. Strength dictates how much damage you may do, along with influencing how much your physical based skills do. Strength is paramount in a Ninja, because all of(to my knowledge) skills run off of strength. Strength can make the difference between one hit killing someone, or taking eight ineffective hits to their ankles as they use Judgement and blow you away. This, is the ninja's primary focus stat.

Mana Points, the godsend of skill management. Mana points are your pool of which you can draw your spells or skills from. The more Mana points you have, the more times you can use a skill before it becomes too low to use it. More mana allows for more uses. Secondary stat for a ninja.

Magic Defense: You shouldn't really even bother with this, seeing as how a Mage can just nuke you, and you'll explode from fire 1 seeing as how your hit points aren't that great. This is a dump stat you shouldn't put anything into.

Mana and Spirit: I lump these together because they're both casting stats, and essentially fulfill the same purpose as the other, to boost spell damage. Ninja have no true direct damage spells, so you shouldn't worry about this either. This is a dump stat.

Thats the stat analysis, and if thats too long to read, I'll rank the the stats out of most important, to least, for a ninja.

Important

1. Strength
2. Mana Points
3. Hit Points
4. Defense
5. Magic Defense
6. Mana
7. Spirit

Dump

Ninja's techs aren't all that great, but they do what they need to, up your damage dealing potential.

Soul Fist: This tech is like a regular attack, except it goes through defenses like butter, so its useful even when you have later techs.

Spin Kick: The ninja/monk equivalent to spinning, or whirling blade. It hits all around you. Useful at some points, but if you're surrounded, you have a problem. Useful against other characters that use Stealth, but not really.

Shuriken: Okay, here's a decent tech. It's a point click spell, so it means that from a range you can hit an enemy. Brilliantly awesome for our low hp ninja. It's damage is... eh. Not as damage as soul fist, but the range helps make up for it.

Thrust: This is like a beefed up slash. The cost is low, so that means you can spam it, but otherwise, I'd stick to Soul Fist.

Stealth: Alright, here is the ninja spell. This is the spell that makes you atrociously annoying to ANY class, including other ninja. This makes your character icon disappear, meaning point click spells are all but useless, unless they luckily click your sprite-less figure. This doesn't save you from techs such as Whirling Blade, but it does help a lot.
